RPC Configuration - Choosing the Right Solana RPC
Learn how to configure your Solana RPC endpoint in SOL Wallet Shadow for faster transactions, better reliability, and improved copy trading performance.
Why RPC Matters
Your RPC (Remote Procedure Call) endpoint is how SOL Wallet Shadow communicates with the Solana blockchain. The quality of your RPC directly impacts:
- •Transaction speed — How fast your copy trades execute
- •Reliability — Whether transactions succeed or fail
- •Monitoring accuracy — How quickly you detect whale trades
- •Rate limits — How many requests you can make per second
Default vs. Private RPC
Default Public RPC
SOL Wallet Shadow works with Solana's public RPC out of the box. However, public RPCs have limitations:
- •Rate-limited (can be throttled during high traffic)
- •Shared with thousands of other users
- •Higher latency
- •Less reliable during network congestion
Private RPC (Recommended)
For serious copy trading, a private RPC is strongly recommended:
- •Dedicated capacity (no sharing)
- •Higher rate limits
- •Lower latency
- •Better uptime guarantees
- •Priority transaction processing
Recommended RPC Providers
Helius
- •Excellent Solana-specific infrastructure
- •Free tier available with generous limits
- •Fast WebSocket support for real-time monitoring
QuickNode
- •Multi-chain support
- •Reliable infrastructure
- •Good dashboard and analytics
Triton
- •Solana-focused
- •High-performance endpoints

How to Configure
- •Sign up with your chosen RPC provider
- •Create a new Solana endpoint
- •Copy your RPC URL
- •Open SOL Wallet Shadow settings
- •Paste your custom RPC URL
- •Save and test the connection
Tips
- •Use WebSocket endpoints when available — they're faster for monitoring wallet activity
- •Monitor your usage — Stay within your plan's rate limits
- •Have a backup — If your primary RPC goes down, you can switch to another quickly
- •Choose a nearby region — Pick an RPC endpoint geographically close to you for lower latency
